FAQs
FAQ Carpet Cleaning and Tile and Grout Cleaning as well as hardwood floor cleaning. We have the answers to your questions!
Absolutely. Carpet protector is an outstanding product that AHCC professionals recommend highly. In fact, most new carpet has protector on it – applied by the carpet manufacturer. However, protector wears off because of foot traffic on the carpet, frequent vacuuming, etc.
There are three key things to do to maintain your new carpet warranty:
1. Vacuum frequently
2. Clean spills promptly
3. Have periodic professional carpet cleanings
Yes, but we recommend that after your carpet is cleaned you do allow for some dry time. If you choose to walk on your freshly cleaned carpet, make sure you wear footwear (slippers, socks, shoe covers, shoes are O.K. if bottoms are clean) when walking on it so that you do not transfer oils from feet to clean carpets. It is also very important that you are careful not to slip when walking from damp carpet to hard surfaces, Please Be Careful.
When vacuuming no longer removes all of the soil, or you have not been able to remove spots following the recommended carpet care and cleaning procedures, it’s time to have your carpet cleaned by a trained and qualified professional cleaner. We know the latest information on carpet construction, carpet care products, and safe, effective cleaning methods to help maintain carpet beauty. For this reason, we recommend, and most carpet manufacturers’ warranties require, periodic professional cleaning.
A good vacuum cleaner is extremely important in prolonging the life of your carpet. Almost any vacuum cleaner can remove surface dirt, but only a quality machine can effectively remove the soil that’s embedded in the pile. We recommend using a vacuum cleaner with a rotating brush or beater/brush combination that agitates the carpet pile to loosen embedded soil.
The most important thing you can do to keep your carpet looking great is to vacuum it thoroughly and frequently, particularly in high-traffic areas. Vacuuming helps remove dirt particles which dull the carpet’s appearance and damage the carpet fibers. Also, use walk-off mats at entrances to minimize dirt particles being tracked onto the carpet and to reduce
soil accumulation.
Not with our Dual Cleaning system. Residue that gets left in teh carpet from inferior cleaning processes is what causes rapid re-soliding. Our two-step deep clean system uses hot water and advanced cleaning agents to loosen soil. Then we remove the dirt and the cleaning solution with clear water rinse and a powerful extractor, leaving your carpets soft and clean.
No. While the Two-Step Deep Clean system does use a very powerful, deep-cleaning fiber rinse, the system extracts the rinse, the cleaning solution and the dirt very effectively in the same step. That gets your carpets as clean as possible while leaving your padding and
sub-floor dry.
We have two cleaning methods available:
1. Agitation with hot water extraction – Dries in 4-8 hours.
2. Encapsulation – Dries in 1-2 hours.
Both can dry faster with ample air circulation and moisture ventilation. Carpet dries on the same principle as your clothing, the more air movement the faster it dries. So if weather permitting open windows, turn on vents to air, ceiling fans and portable fans are a great idea also.
No. What harms carpet is poor quality machinery that doesn’t remove enough of the water to allow the carpet to go through the drying
process properly.
Whether you’re looking to clean carpet or tiles, you might be wondering why you need to contact a professional carpet cleaning company to clean your floors. It can’t be that hard, right? Actually, it can. American Heritage Inc can explain how.
Professional carpet cleaning comes with a long list of skills and expertise that you need in order to do it right. Deep cleaning a carpet is more than just using a vacuum cleaner, just like properly cleaning a tiled floor takes more than a mop.
You need to know, just like our team does, what you’re going to be up against when it comes time to deep clean. It’s simple enough to scrub, but some stains can be impossible to get out without the right kind of cleaning fluids and the right materials to scrub with. Being caught without them means potentially endless trips to the supermarket or cleaning supply outlet, which also means a lot of wasted money, so you need to what you’re going to be using before you even start.
A lot of the deep cleaning involved in professional floor care also involves some heavy-duty industrial chemicals and cleaning fluids. On top of that, you might end up having to mix a few of them yourself. This is definitely not something you want to try if you’re not a professional. Risking personal injury through improper use of corrosive materials, or accidentally poisoning yourself with fumes are both risks you don’t want to take. A professional cleaner needs to know exactly what they’re doing, and a team like ours at American Heritage Carpet Cleaners is already fully equipped.
Speaking of being equipped – along with the experience and expertise of a great carpet cleaning specialist, you also need the best equipment. A lot of heavy-duty, modern cleaning equipment for carpets and other surfaces is not just expensive but requires knowledge to use. Spending a fortune on a hot water extraction cleaner, only to end up not being able to figure out how to use it, sounds like a nightmare!
American Heritage Carpet Cleaning uses the Carpet and Rug Institute’s top rated cleaning equipment to get the job done. Our team is trained and experienced in using these powerful, efficient tools. This goes for all of our equipment, whether we’re cleaning carpets, tiles or hardwood floors – we don’t use anything but the best.
